Short Synopsis
“Outta the Darkness Into The Light,” is an interactive, semi-autobiographical work consisting of reflections on some of Anthony’s life-altering decisions. It is a play that exists in the nuances of now. Depending on what occurs from one moment to the next, it can exude the dark & alarming, or emanate the joyous & gleeful. It all depends on the moment.
The play begins with Anthony trying to kill himself by jumping in front of a train. Then intriguingly continues with a conversation about his life with an ominous, unseen voice. The purpose of this conversation? To afford Tony his opportunity to explain certain life choices. Curiously, the choices to be discussed are selected not by the Voice, but by a panel of unknown decision-makers. This panel will, after listening to his explanations, decide whether Tony must continue on the path he has laid, or if he is free to follow another one. The panel alone decides.
Anthony Montes (Bio)
Anthony Montes, is an award-winning Actor, Director, Writer, and Producer. Anthony has been part of the film and theater industry for over 40 years. Anthony Montes has been teaching and coaching actors for over 30 years. Anthony has Written over 40 Plays, published 22 Books (available on Amazon), and Written 11 Screenplays. He has had two of his Screenplays made into films, THE LAST NIGHT INN and THE LAST TRAIN, (which he also stars in) which can be rented on Amazon Prime. OUTTA THE DARKNESS INTO THE LIGHT is a semi-autobiographical piece, inspired by his own suicide attempt when he jumped in front of a train when he was 27. Anthony is the proud father of his son, Matthew Lawrence Bohn-Montes who has taught him much about life, love, and being in the moment.

Will Focus on Scene Study, Text Analysis, Writing & Acting Technique. His technique was developed from the teachings of Meisner, Strasberg, Adler, Chekov & exercises that he developed in his over 30 years of teaching. Anthony is an Award-Winning Actor, Writer, Director, Producer. He has taught in, Berlin, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Paris, Strasbourg, London, Liverpool, Dubai, Mumbai, Istanbul, Mexico City, Johannesburg, Seoul, Bangkok, San Francisco, Seattle
& Los Angeles. He has studied with, Sanford Meisner, Charlie Laughton, Shelley Winters, Susan Peretz, Bob Carnegie, James Franco & Bill Anderson.
He Wrote, Produced & Acted in the Award Winning Films, THE LAST NIGHT INN & THE LAST TRAIN. Currently, he is working on his One Man Show, OUTTA THE DARKNESS INTO THE LIGHT. He has Written over 40 Plays & 11 Screenplays. Many of his plays can be purchased on Amazon.
