Say, Yes unless you’re sure you have nothing to learn from the experience
I can see a change in my life since I stopped saying no. I see now that a lot of the no’s in my life came because I was afraid to fail. To look foolish. Now I say Yes, unless I am sure that I have nothing to learn from it. I am thinking more positively these days and saying, Yes and Oh, look where these yes’s have taken me. I have changed my way of asking for things. In my life I see now that I have never, known what was in my best interest. I have now given up trying to control all things in my life and have trusted people more. I guess maybe as a society, we are becoming more trusting. We share our life on social media, we stay in people’s homes that we don’t know through Airbnb, Homeaway, we get in cars with people who aren’t necessarily trained to drive through Lyft and Uber and I guess that is a good thing. Now when I ask for things, I say, “Whatever is in my best interest.” That doesn’t mean I now throw everything up in the air and leave it all to chance, but I do trust that I don’t have to do everything myself. My saying yes, has taken me to 8 countries in the last 2 years that I have never gone to before. From my saying yes, I have written and starred in 2 feature films in the last three years. My saying yes, has brought into my life the greatest joy of my life, my son Matthew. My saying yes allowed me to do something that I wanted to do for the past 20 years and put up my One-Man Show. I am no longer ruling my life by saying, No, which was from my fear of making a mistake. My fear of taking a risk. I see now it is a risk, not to take a risk. YES YES YES!!!
