Anthony Montes was an instructor at NYFA who taught both the college and high school
camp programs. His specialty was Meisner, but the man could teach almost anything in
the acting curriculum. I worked with him for years and he was by far one of the best
instructors I’ve encountered. His student reviews were spectacular and my professional
interaction with him was equally stellar. I worked with over 20,000 students and
hundreds of instructors, and Anthony is top 1% without question. I support him whole-
heartedly in all of his pursuits and he’s an exceptionally talented actor and instructor and
a joy to work with.

Anthony Montes is my all time favorite teacher. He is kind, attentive, inspiring and
generous just like when he is acting on stage. I have never met somebody so genuine
with his work and students. He has helped me many times in my acting and helped me
understand better life. He gets involved in his own projects but also others. From the
first day of class, he always pushes his student to create plays or scenes or screenplay.
He taught us not to wait for our big break but to work on our own projects and make it
happen. Teachers like him are very rare.

When I joined Tonys classes, I actually didn’t know what if I wanted to be an actress,
work on my communication skills, etc. Im scared of cameras and sometimes people. I
had no acting experience, and Tony has something in him (not just experience but
personality as well) that makes me feel comfortable, welcome, motivated, interested
and focus. After few classes I noticed that he not only helped me with my
communication skills but also my personality. Thank You Tony.

Anthony was an amazing teacher who taught us more about acting and ourselves by
sharing some of his own inspirational experiences, bringing us in contact with our
emotions and the emotions of others. One of his exercises is one of the greatest acting
experiences I ever had in my entire life. He knows how to open people up and be more
responsive to other actors. Overall he’s a wonderful teacher that I really enjoyed
learning from.

I studies with The Artist Theatre Group for a little over a year, and it was one of the best
of my life! Never before had I found such a supportive, safe, enriching and challenging
artistic environment. Anthony assembles a wonderful class of actors and his talent for
teaching is immense – I was pushed to make discoveries I never knew I had in me. He
always made me dig deeper and deeper, encouraging and fostering my (and all the
other actor’s) creativity and artistry, and my career is all because of his guidance. Not
only is Anthony a wonderful teacher, but he is a person of the highest order – caring,
nurturing and a true mentor and role model. I could not recommend his class enough.
